Radiesse is a type of dermal filler that is used to treat wrinkles, folds, and loss of volume in the face and hands. It is made of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres, which are suspended in a gel carrier. When injected into the skin, Radiesse provides immediate volume and lift, while also stimulating the production of new collagen over time.
The microspheres in Radiesse are biocompatible and biodegradable, meaning that they are naturally broken down by the body over time. The gel carrier also contains lidocaine, a local anesthetic, to make the injection process more comfortable.
Radiesse is commonly used to treat nasolabial folds (the lines that run from the nose to the corners of the mouth), marionette lines (the lines that run from the corners of the mouth to the chin), and other facial wrinkles and folds. It can also be used to add volume and contour to the cheeks, jawline, and chin. The results of Radiesse typically last for 12-18 months, depending on the individual’s skin type and lifestyle factors.
